 Phosphoric acid, obtained from phosphate ore with wet method, shall not used in food sector because of the high quantities of impurities it includes. This wet phosphoric acid used in fertilizers and other chemicals is provided to be used in food sector after purifying process.
Production of phosphoric acid which is appropriate for food industry through purification of wet phosphoric acid which is used in fertilizer industry has been done since 1990 and there are several factories using this method in the USA, Canada, Belgium, Israel, Germany and China.
The most important usage area of the refined phosphoric acid is food industry. it can be used as acid regulator especially in soft drinks, yeast industry and also used for refinery of butter and sugar.
Technical phosphoric acid is besides used in chemical industry (production of phosphate salts), metal industry (electrochemical polishing process), detergent industry, metal alloys industry, equipment maintenance (cleaning of boilers and heat converter tubes), ceramic sector (phosphate compounds when obtaining paints for ceramics), plastic sector, fire retardant and also pharmaceuticals sector.
